Based in the Peak District, Woodwise Uk was founded by Lee Baines in early 2008, like many he shares a passion for exotic timbers having being a woodturning enthusiast since an early age, and is also a member of the AWGB (Association of Woodturners of Great Britain). Woodwise Uk fully supports CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) and is also an active member of Tree Nation, an ecological organisation which works closely with local african communities to re-plant exotic trees to help prevent desertification.
Lee has spent many years in the exotic timbers trade, working for local companys selecting and processing the finest timbers for musical instruments and specialist projects, therefore bringing the knowledge and know how to Woodwise Uk and all its customers.
Our excellent timbers are hand picked, and we stock a wide range of bowl blanks, turning squares and lumber. Our customers range from wood turners and carvers to furniture makers and woodwind manufacturers.
